Sara Murphy, PhD

“You have a great marketing voice. As a fellow writer, I was really impressed with the level of personality and informality you were able to put in place.”

The first time we talked to Sara Murphy, PhD, we connected instantly–she loves to travel, loves fiction, loves history, and loves the art of writing. Sara didn’t have an exact vision for her brand and website, but through our discovery session, we uncovered a few hints that would serve as building blocks of her unique brand identity and website design.

Her logo and font were derived from the Roman style fonts created by William Carlson back in the first half of the 18th century. We incorporated the colors of her wardrobe–black, red, emerald and gold–which also reflected her Irish and Iranian heritage.

As a writer selling her services, we needed to show some writing samples. We gathered articles and blogs she had written in the past (both personally and professionally) and copied them to a portfolio section of the website. We linked them to the original content and properly tagged them to avoid getting flagged by search engines for having duplicate content. She will also have a blog where she can write new articles that speak to her target audience.
