“Emily is a design genius!”

- Holly Roach, Owner

We look for clients who are passionate about their businesses. Holly is an event producer and civil rights activist who saw first-hand the dire need for activists and organizers to rest, recharge, and gather to celebrate the good in their lives. When the COVID-19 pandemic began to shut things down in the US, Holly decided that it was time to officially launch her new event planning organization, Restorative Retreats of North Carolina.

We had designed a brand identity for Holly a few years back, but her vision and mission had evolved since then, so we did a minor refresh, keeping our design for the new website in mind. The color palette of soothing blues, greens and violets remained, and we kept the single white feather, which represents faith and communication, two things at the center RR’s work.

The website’s messaging and navigation work together to create a fluid user experience. Restorative Retreats offers three connected but separate services: group retreats, event planning, and event equipment rentals. We turned these three offerings into three primary navigation buttons: Retreats, Rituals and Rentals.

The website’s messaging and navigation work together to create a fluid user experience. Restorative Retreats offers three connected but separate services: group retreats, event planning, and event equipment rentals. We turned these three offerings into three primary navigation buttons: Retreats, Rituals and Rentals.

The secondary navigation on the right hand side tells the user more about the organization and provides a way to get in touch.

As the user scrolls through strategically placed content and animated image blurbs, they are encouraged to make contact with Holly via “first-person” buttons that show the user that the organization understands them. At the bottom of every page, the user is encouraged to join the community, showing again, that the organization cares about them.
